MANAMA, March 20 (KUNA) -- Bahraini Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Sheikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa said participants in the just-ended session of the National Consensus Dialogue agreed to put off the discussion on the power sharing issue to the coming session.
The issue, raised by six out of the 10 opposition groups, will be debated in the coming session," Sheikh Khalid said in a press conference here Wednesday evening after the ninth session of the dialogue.
"The decision to postpone the discussion aimed to avoid any impediment to the dialogue which is going well on the right track," he explained.
The minister affirmed that his government, as a key partner in the dialogue, is committed to any consensus that could result from the dialogue.
"The outcome of the dialogue, including any suggestions for constitutional or procedural amendments, will be tendered to the king for endorsement," he went on.
The participants in the just-ended session agreed to set up a team representing all partners in order to facilitate reaching consensus on the items of the agenda.
Asked about the call by some opposition groups for involving UN experts in the dialogue, Sheikh Khalid said there is no need of foreign experts since the Kingdom of Bahrain has efficient judges and veterans in dispute settlement.
