BRUSSELS, March 20 (KUNA) -- European Commission President Jos{ Manuel
Barroso will meet the Russian Government led by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev
in Moscow on Thursday for talks that will cover a wide range of EU-Russia
cooperation.
They include a EU-Russia New Agreement, trade issues, energy cooperation,
transport. As part of this visit, Barroso will also meet with President
Vladimir Putin, said an EU statement here today.
Meetings between the Russian government and the European Commission have
been held since 1997, most recently in Brussels in February 2011.
This meeting of all the 27 EU Commissioners with their counterpart Russian
Ministers will be the largest ever, it noted.
Analysts say the current financial crisis in Cyprus and the Syrian crisis
is certain to be discussed by the two sides. Russia has invested billions of
euros in Cypriot banks. (end)
