DUBAI, Feb 10 (KUNA) -- UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is to open the first Government Summit here on Monday.
The two-day Government Summit acts as a platform for innovation, knowledge-sharing, and the strengthening of national efforts towards achieving the goals of the UAE Vision 2021.
The Government Summit, billed as the largest government gathering in the region and the Arab world, is meant to develop government work and services and to enable the government sector to achieve excellence, which is crucial to achieve Vision 2021.
UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Head of the Organizing Committee of the Summit Mohammed Al Gergawi said the high-profile event receives direct patronage and proper care of Sheikh Mohammed whose engagement will add a fresh momentum to the government performance.
The gathering provides a unique world platform to discuss what occupies the minds of policy-makers in regards to improvement of government services and latest studies in that respect.
It is expected to attract from 2,000 to 2,500 participants, he pointed out.
The summit will host several speakers from around the world and specialized research centers in government development. It will discuss expertise from Denmark, Canada, Australia, South Korea and Brazil as well as a number of successful local experiences.
