BAGHDAD, Jan 5 (KUNA) -- Three persons were killed and 23 others injured in explosions in the city of Hilla, southern Baghdad, on Saturday, a security source said.
A booby-trapped car that was parking in front of an Iraqi army checkpoint western Hilla was detonated killing three peole and wounding 18 others, the source in the province of Babylon told KUNA.
Ten minutes later, three explosive devices were tossed at the same scene injuring five Iraqis including three policemen, added the source.
The police cordoned off the area and ambulances rushed to take the dead bodies and wounded. Police are investigating the attacks. (end) mhg.bs KUNA 052201 Jan 13NNNN
