BAGHDAD, Dec 21 (KUNA) -- The Iraqi army killed Al-Qaeda commander in southern Baghdad in an operation carried out in the city of Mosul, northern Iraq, a military officer said Friday.
A joint force from the 17th and Second division carried out an operation in Mosul today which resulted in the killing of Taha Al-Eithawi, commander of Al-Qaeda in southern Baghdad districts, Major-General Nasser Al-Ghannam told reporters.
He said the joint force had intelligent tips of the hideout of Al-Eithawi in Mosul, and acted accordingly. (end) mhg.bs KUNA 212308 Dec 12NNNN
