WASHINGTON, Sept 7 (KUNA) -- A new poll showed here Friday that US President Barack Obama continues to earn positive marks for leadership from nearly half the nation's voters, but there's a wide partisan difference of opinion on this question.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey indicated that 48 percent of Likely US Voters rate the president's leadership as good or excellent, whereas 40 percent think he is doing a poor job.
Meanwhile, the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday showed Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney attracting support from 46 percent of voters nationwide, while Obama earns 45 percent of the vote.
Up to four percent prefer some other candidate while five percent are undecided.
All of these results were measured prior to Obama's prime-time speech Thursday night to the Democratic National Convention.
Furthermore, as projected earlier in the week by the Rasmussen Employment Index, today's jobs report was "disappointing." Concern about job security is rising with 62 percent of workers believe that it will be "their choice when they change jobs." This results is down 12 points from July and down 19 points from May, being the lowest level of confidence measured in more than three years, according to Rasmussen Reports.
