KUWAIT, May 6 (KUNA) -- Syrian government forces on Sunday killed nine
people, including a child and a woman, after opening fire on them, according
to a coalition of opposition groups known as the Local Coordinating Committees.
In other incidents nationwide, government forces shot at anti-regime
protesters randomly, leading to dozens of casualties.
Towns and cities across the country affected by the violence include Homs,
Damascus, countryside of Damascus, Idleb, Hama and Daraa.
The regime of President Bashar Al-Assad has sent a large number of security
and military reinforcements to towns and cities opposing his rule, amid the
continuing role of international observers in their mission to maintain a
ceasefire as per the proposal of the international and Arab envoy to Syria
Kofi Annan.
Both the government and opposition accuse each other of being responsible
for the constant breach of this ceasefire. (end)
