By Talal Al-Snafi (with photos) KUWAIT, Feb 2 (KUNA) -- Third constituency voters in the 2012 National Assembly elections expressed hopes that the process of vote counting in the next elections would be electronic as is the case in many developed countries.
Dr. Talal Al-Shimmari, voter, said that the process of counting votes electronically in ballot centers and on the specialized elections website would increase the number of voters.
He added, that this process would facilitate the voting for those of special needs, senior citizens and citizens abroad.
Meanwhile, Abdullah Al-Otaibi, college student, said that voting through the internet would contribute in lessening costs in providing and equipping ballot stations, in addition to the number of workers in the counting process, and most importantly reduces the human error factor.
Al-Otaibi assured that the state of Kuwait has all the qualifications and human elements to launch this process.
For his part, Abdulwahab Al-Hashem, mechanical engineer, said that the decision to use electronic voting should be made "quickly and comprehensively, " noting that there are many previous successful experiences in developed nations. (end) tms.tb.asa.hb KUNA 021906 Feb 12NNNN
