GAZA, June 26 (KUNA) -- Israel on Sunday threatened to launch a new war on
southern Lebanon if Hezbollah continued piling up weapons.
"Hezbollah has turned most villages in southern Lebanon into explosive
spots," a senior military source told Israeli radio, threatening to launch a
large-scale military operation there.
"We have recently discovered new military bases and equipment belonging to
Hezbollah in these villages."
Last week, Israel conducted a major military maneuver simulating a
multi-front war in which rockets would be fired into Israel from Iran, Syria,
Lebanon and Gaza Strip.
Israeli newspaper Haaretz revealed Sunday Israeli military intelligence
(AMAN) chief has recently visited the United States secretly to express fears
of the transfer of sophisticated weapons from Syria to Hezbollah in Lebanon
"if the uprising there managed to remove President Bashar Al-Assad regime."
