CAIRO, June 19 (KUNA) -- The Arab League's permanent representatives called
on Darfur's armed opposition groups to reach a comprehensive and conclusive
peace settlement with the Sudanese government, in the quickest manner possible
and according to the Doha Accord.
After an extra-ordinary meeting, the Arab League council said in its
closing statement that the initiative was fundamental towards achieving
long-lasting and comprehensive peace in Darfur, stressing the need for Egypt
to be a major partner in the role of following up the implementation of the
accord.
The statement furthermore commended the results of the peace talks in Doha,
which began in 2009 under the guidance of the League, the African Union and
