KUWAIT, June 7 (KUNA) -- Kazma football team clinched the 49th Amir's Cup after defeating Al-Kuwait 1-0 in the final match on Tuesday evening.
The match, held at Al-Kuwait stadium, was balanced in terms of performance on both ends, however Kazma's Talal Al-Fadhil surprised Al-Kuwait goalkeeper Khalid Al-Fadhli with a long distant shot at the 54th minute which went through the right side of the goalkeeper, making it the winning goal of the match.
On the other hand, Kazma's goalkeeper Husain Kankoni was able to defend his turf after blocking two shots by Al-Kuwait Brazilian player Rogerio de Assis Coutinho at the 46 and 60 minutes.
Al-Kuwait football team, which recently won the Crown Prince Cup, did not have the fighting spirit needed for such match, including the lack of attacking and holding their lines on the ground.
Meanwhile, Kazma was more active and persistent to end the football season in a high note.
After the game, Kazma players expressed great joy for winning the Cup, the seventh in the team's history.
Kazma's Player Fahad Al-Fahad told reporters that such achievement comes after great efforts by the players, the technical staff, since the start of the season, noting that such title was great end to this year's season.
Al-Fahad added that such moment comes after 13 long years of absence, stressing importance on the boost to players that comes from winning such title.
In similar sentiments, Kazma's player Al-Fadhil said that joy is overwhelming for his personally, because he scored the only goal in the match.
Kazma's outstanding player Fahad Al-Enezi said that he extends greetings on such win to Kazma's fans, administration and football family.
