BRATISLAVA, March 3 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti embassy in Slovakia celebrated the national occasions marking the 50th Independence Day, 20th Liberation Day and the 5th anniversary of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's assumption of power.
The celebration was attended by high-ranking Slovak officials such as the Minister of Health, Minister of Works and Social Affairs and the Parliament's Vice-chairman as well as Head of Arab and Foreign missions in Slovakia and a number of top political, economic and media figures.
The two Slovak Ministers congratulated the Kuwaiti leadership and people, stressing the importance of expanding cooperation between Kuwait and Slovakia in all domains, especially the economic and political ones.
On behalf of embassy members, Kuwaiti Ambassador Bader Nasser Al-Houti expressed his deepest congratulations to His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince, His Highness the Prime Minister and the Kuwaiti people, wishing the state of Kuwait prosperity and stability.
Speaking to KUNA, Al-Houti recalled on this joyous occasions the great sacrifices that were made by the Kuwaiti people to keep their homeland safe from any harm under His Highness the Amir's leadership who largely contributed in raising Kuwait's status to gain regional and international respect and appreciation.
The envoy expressed his pride to his country's stability and its national unity which are based on strong democratic foundations and the respect of the individual freedom.
The embassy held a comprehensive fair in which it displayed folkloric paintings and photographs that depicted Kuwait's past and present as well as many books and informative brochures on the tiny Gulf state's history, humanitarian and development contributions.
Meanwhile, the Slovak government expressed its aspirations to enhance cooperation with Kuwait on all levels, especially the commercial and economic one, to achieve exceptional bilateral ties. (end) amq.nfm KUNA 030935 Mar 11NNNN
