KUWAIT, Jan 18 (KUNA) -- Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Minister of State for Development Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Sheikh Ahmad Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah said on Tuesday that the 2nd annual development plan has been put forward for execution.
He said the plan will be submitted to the Supreme Council for Planning for approval and forwarded to the Ministry of Finance and then to parliament.
Sheikh Ahmad said in his speech at the opening of a forum dubbed (Development Projects..the Gate of Kuwait's Future) that the development and its projects is no longer frozen in light of the onging political chaos but has become an obvious and sustained fact for either the long, medium term or annual projects.
He explained that legalization of development within the framework of legislation from the legislative and executive branches after the initiative of His Highness the Amir to transform Kuwait into a financial and commercial center contributed to the continued implementation of development projects and to compell all parties to adhere to its implementation even under the internal political movement.
He pointed out that the democratic system ruled by the laws and the Constitution make the political movement a natural matter.
He said the celebrations of Kuwait on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of independence and 20th Liberation Day coincide with the first anniversary of the launch of the development plan and the concept of development according to modern mechanisms based on indicative development and not comprehensive and based mainly on the restructuring of the national economy.
