SANAA, Nov 22 (KUNA) -- The 20th Arabian Gulf Cup is due to kick off later Monday with the participation of eight countries in the Yemeni capital of Aden.
Yemeni President Ali Abduallah Saleh will inaugurate the opening ceremony in the presence of the President of Djibouti, Ismail Omar Guelleh, and the President of Eritrea, Isaias Afewerki, along with other delegations of the participating countries.
The opening ceremony will display a number of showcases, with the participation of 1,500 artists, actors and dancers from various art and folklore groups, school and college students, as well as some prominent musical artists from the Gulf region.
The Yemen and Saudi Arabia football teams will launch the championship this evening, followed by Kuwaiti and Qatari teams the same night.
On Tuesday, Oman and Bahrain teams will go head to head while Iraq and UAE will face off the same day.
The participants are divided into two groups with Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Qatar, and Kuwait in the first. Iraq, Bahrain, Amman and UAE in the second. (end) az.nfm KUNA 221358 Nov 10NNNN
