ISLAMABAD, Nov 16 (KUNA) -- Nearrly 17 people were killed and several
others were reportedly wounded in latest US missile strikes on Tuesday in
Pakistani bordering tribal region of Waziristan, security officials said.
Predator drones fired four missiles at a vehicle and a suspected militant
compound in Ghulam Khan area of North Waziristan tribal agency, they told KUNA.
They said the strikes destroyed the vehicle and the compound, killing some
17 people and wounding several others. Only few minutes later, officials said
further that another predator drone fired two more missiles at another house
in the same area.
Several persons were reportedly wounded in the second strike but no exact
figures were yet available.
Some local tribal sources said that most of the killed were suspected
foreign militants of Uzbek and Arab origins. (end)
