BAGHDAD, Nov 8 (KUNA) -- Thirteen Iraqis were killed and 39 injured in a powerful car explosion in west of Basra, southern Iraq, on Monday, a security source said.
A booby-trapped car was detonated in Al-Maaredh (exhibitions) Street in Al-Qibla area in Basra killing 13 people and wounding 39 others, the source said in a statement.
Police Captain Emad Aasi from the Basra governorate said most of the victims were rushed to Al-Sadr Education Hospital and Basra General hostapil.
He said most of the injured suffered serious wounds.
