BERLIN, Nov 2 (KUNA) -- A suspicious package sent to German Chancellor's
office here on Tuesday proved to be a bomb, government spokesman Steffen
Seibert said.
The parcel scanning center of the Angela Merkel's office suspected the
package during a routine inspection, so they called in explosive experts who
verified that the packaged contained black gunpowder.
The explosive package was safely defused an no one was injured, the
spokesman said, noting that the issue is still under further investigations.
Meanwhile, the German daily Der Tagesspiegel reported that the package was
delivered by United Parcel Service (UPS), with its return address being the
Greece Economy Ministry.
The package was addressed directly to Chancellor Merkel, the daily added.
