KUWAIT, Sept 21 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Qadsiya Football team easily defeated on
Tuesday Thailand's Thai Port team 3-0 and advanced in aggregate to the semi
finals within the Asian Football Confederation's (AFC) Cup.
Qadsiya began their scoring at the 15th minute of the first half, thanks to
Hamad Al-Enezi who headed the ball after a pass from teammate Bader Al-Mutawa.
Al-Enezi returned the favor and the second goal was scored by Al-Mutawa at
the 21st minute.
In the second half, Qadsiya's Abdulaziz Al-Meshaan scored the third goal at
the 77th minute after passing Thai Port goal keeper and scoring the final goal.
Due to the advantage of playing at their home turf, Qadsiya took full
control of the match and has wasted numerous opportunities to increase their
lead.
After this win, Qadsiya will play an away-home match for the AFC's semi
final against Bahrain's Al-Riffa team on 5th of next October.
The Bahraini team qualified for the upcoming round after defeating Vietnam
Da Nang team 5-3.
Qadsiya away match ended in a draw 0-0.
Meanwhile, Kuwait's other competing team in the AFC Cup Kazma is gearing up
toward the-home match tomorrow against the Syrian Al-Itthiad.
Kazma's Assistant coach Jamal Yaqoub insisted his side will hold nothing
back in the search for the win against Al-Ittihad that will see them qualify
for the AFC Cup semi-finals.
A 1-0 victory will be enough for the hosts at the Friendship And Peace
Stadium following their 3-2 defeat in Aleppo last week. (end)
