ANKARA, May 20 (KUNA) -- Turkish Military aircraft bombed different areas that belong to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in northern Iraq, Turkish TV reported on Thursday.
Turkish News TV (NTV) said according to a military source that a raid of 20 aircraft targeted Jebla area in northern Iraq, hitting nearly 50 targets Kurdish rebels.
The tv channel said that the raids hit Iraq's Zab and Hakurk vallies, without giving further information.
The attack came a day after Turkeys top envoy in Baghdad, Murat Ozcelik, met with Massoud Barzani, head of the Regional Kurdish Administration.
Furthermore, the attacks came a week after the confrontations between Turkish rebels and the Army in southern Turkey, which resulted in the death and injury of a number of soldiers. (end) mm.mao KUNA 202153 May 10NNNN
