KUWAIT, May 18 (KUNA) -- The four Gulf States of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman,
and Kuwait will be partaking in the first Gulf Ice-Hockey Championship on May
25, said an official here on Tuesday.
Speaking at Kuwait Olympic Committee's headquarter, head of the Kuwaiti
Ice-Hockey Committee Fuhaid Al-Ajmi told the press that Kuwait was very
excited to host the first ever Ice-Hockey tournament for the GCC, noting the
International Ice-Hockey Federation (IIHF) would be supervising the tournament
and would send referees.
On his part, coordinator of the tournament Waleed Al-Sagobi said that the
opening ceremony of the tournament would be a spectacular six-day event,
adding that Kuwait and Saudi Arabia would play the opening match of the
tournament. (end)
