BAGHDAD, March 28 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki said Sunday he has the right to establish coalition with other parties to form what he called a government of "national partnership." Al-Maliki, whose State of Law Alliance came second in parliamentary elections with 89 seats, said the next days would witness the announcement of a coalition that would form the future government.
This coalition, he said in an interview with Somariya Satellite Station, consisted of the State of Law Alliance, the Iraqi National Alliance, the Kurdistan Alliance and the National Concorde Front.
The coalition, added Al-Maliki, would be responsible for forming the next government.
The bloc which has the largest number of votes is the one to form the next government, he said.
Former Ayad Allawi's Iraqiya List came first in the March 7 elections with 91 seats.
Iraq National Alliance was third with 70 seats. The Kurdistan Alliance got 42 seats, The Kurdistan Islamic bloc got four seats while the Iraqi unity block got for and the Islamic gathering with two seats.
Iraqi Higher Elections Commission (IHEC) and the UN mission in Iraq called on all political parties to accept results of the elections. (end) mhg.bs KUNA 282251 Mar 10NNNN
