ISTANBUL, Dec 4 (KUNA) -- Turkey revealed on Friday that a staggering figure of 46 people have died of swine flu during the past four days, bringing the total number of deaths to 241.
Furthermore, 233 people are affected with the disease and are currently receiving treatment, of these 64 are under severe treatment, added the Turkish Ministry of Health in a written statement.
Last month, the ministry began vaccinating medical personnel and children from six months to five years of age, as well as people of chronic disorders.
Deaths as a result of A(H1N1) began increasing rapidly in the country of late since the first fatality recorded at the end of October this year. (end) ta.sd KUNA 041638 Dec 09NNNN
