KABUL, Nov 14 (KUNA) -- Four Taliban and three civilians were killed in a
clash in western Afghanistan, local officials said on Saturday.
They said the fighting between Taliban and Afghan and foreign troops
erupted when militants attacked a security forces convoy in Shindand district
of the western Herat province on Friday night.
An official at the office of the governor said Taliban attacked the
security forces from a house. The troops returned fire and killed four
militants.
In exchange of fire, three civilians living in the same houses, where also
killed, said the official who did not want to be named.
Earlier, locals said 12 civilians were killed in a raid by foreign and
Afghan troops on a house in Shindand district.
There is no comment from the NATO press office about the incident. (end)
