KABUL, Aug 30 (KUNA) -- Three policemen were among six people killed in two
separate bomb attacks in southern Afghanistan on Sunday.
The first blast, cause by a roadside bomb, took place in Panjwayee district
of Kandahar province. The explosion killed three policemen, provincial
officials.
Three more people, all of them civilians, were killed when in a similar
bomb attack in Arghandab district of Kandahar the same day.
Police officials in Kandahar and the Interior Ministry in Kabul confirmed
the two blasts and the casualties. They said 10 people sustained injuries in
the two explosions.
Taliban claimed responsibility for the first attack that killed the
policemen but did not issue any statement about the civilian casualties in the
second blast in Arghandab district. (end)
