CAPITALS, Feb 26 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's embassies and foreign missions abroad
continued Thursday to celebrate the 48th National day and 18th Liberation Day
with celebrations began last night.
Kuwait's Consul General in Milan and northern Italy Abdullah Khaled
Al-Askar held a reception in celebration of his country's national holidays.
Al-Askar told KUNA that he takes this opportunity to congratulate Kuwait's
leadership and people on the occasions of the national and liberation days.
He affirmed that relations between Kuwait and Italy were strong, saying
this fact was evident in Rome's keenness to develop relations with Kuwait at
all levels.
Also the Kuwaiti Embassy in Austria held similar festivities.
The celebration ceremony was attended by Arab and foreign diplomats there.
Austrian and representatives of foreign missions attending the party
expressed their great joy to Kuwait's celebrations of the national and
liberation days and hoped that the Gulf nation would continue to excel in its
future plans for development.
Ambassador Fawzi Al-Jassem congratulated the Kuwaiti leadership and people
during the ceremony held at the embassy.
Heading to the Asian continent, Kuwait Ambassador to the Sultanate of
Brunei Gassan Mohammad Al-Dowaisan held a ball at the embassy celebrating the
national and liberation days.
The embassy's celebration was attended by senior officials.
The Ambassador stressed that bilateral relations were very strong,
affirming that both states would pursue to elevate the relations in the near
future.
The Kuwaiti Embassy in Thailand also held its celebrations of the national
occasions.
Organizing the fete was Kuwait Ambassador to Bangkok Hafith Mohammad
Al-Ajmi who told KUNA that the Thai government and people wished Kuwait all
the best in the future.
Meanwhile, Kuwait's General Consulate in Hong Kong launched its
celebrations of the national and liberation days with the holding of a great
bash attended by Arab, Muslim, and foreign diplomats there.
General Consul Bader Al-Tunaib said in the Consulate's celebrations of the
national occasions that Kuwait was eager to extend its ties with all peaceful
nations of the world.
He affirmed that Kuwait was also keen on developing relations with Hong
Kong which in recent years saw some great leaps forward.
Similarly, Kuwait General Consulate in Vietnam held a reception attended by
a number of local officials and representatives of foreign missions.
Kuwait's General Consul Dr. Abdulaziz Ahmad Al-Sharah thanked all who
participated in the Consulate's reception, affirming that relations between
Kuwait and Vietnam would continue to be even stronger in the upcoming years.
In the Middle East, Kuwait's Consulate in Jeddah city, Saudi Arabia,
participated in the national occasions by holding celebrations.
Kuwait's General Consul Salman Al-Haifi headed the celebrations there.
Al-Haifi expressed his happiness towards the national and liberation days,
adding that such occasions must reinforce solidarity between Kuwaiti people
and government.
The Consul also reflected on the Saudi-Kuwait relations, saying that both
nations were looking forward to integrate ties in the future.
Also Kuwaits' Consulate in Libya held a similar event.
General Consul of Kuwait in Libya Abdullah Al-Adwani stated that the
celebrations were attended by several local officials as well as Arab and
foreign diplomats.
Kuwait's Embassy in Tunisia also held celebrations which were attended by
many officials.
Kuwait Ambassador to Tunisia Abdulhamid Al-Failakawi affirmed that Kuwait
and Tunisia were willing to bolster relations in all sectors.
He congratulated Kuwait's leadership and people on the occasions of the
national and liberation days. (end)
