TOKYO, Feb 20 (KUNA) -- Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Wuhan, central China, Friday, official Xinhua News Agency reported.
During his stay at the capital city of Hubei Province, Zardari is expected to pursue Sino-Pakistani cooperation in agriculture and water conservancy, said Xinhua. He will also meet with the local governor.
Zardari will also visit the Three Gorges Project in Yichang city to study its management and technology. The Pakistani leader will leave Hubei for Shanghai, China's financial hub, on Sunday to continue his China tour before returning home on Monday.
China believed the visit would consolidate the two countries' all-weather friendship and deepen all-round cooperation, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said earlier. Bilateral trade volume between China and Pakistan reached USD 6.9 billion in 2008, demonstrating a 1.3 percent year-on-year increase, said Xinhua.
This is Zardari's second China trip. He last paid a state visit as guest of President Hu Jintao in October 2008. (end) mk.rk KUNA 201912 Feb 09NNNN
