KUWAIT, Jan 20 (KUNA) -- The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education Dr. Rasha Al-Humoud Al-Sabah on Tuesday presided a Gulf Cooperation Council meeting for the committee to initiate the educational dimension regarding higher education, presenting a Kuwaiti paper on the occasion.
The Kuwaiti and GCC commitment to develop education and human resources was underlined by Dr. Rasha at the inauguration of the two-day meeting which coincides with the Arab Economic, Development and Social Summit held in Kuwait as well.
The three dimensions of the Kuwaiti paper were covered by Dr. Rasha, including the political-security, the economic and the educational dimensions all adopted by the GCC's General Secretariat and discussed separately by an assigned committee.
GCC General Secretariat Advisor Dr. Abdulrahman Saegh who hailed the Kuwaiti-held Arab Summit, said that a GCC meeting in October 2007 covered several crucial topics to the society including moderation in thought, tackling fundamentalism, the role of scientific research in universities and raising the efficiency of academic institutions.
