GAZA, Oct 21 (KUNA) -- An Israeli police force stormed on Tuesday evening
Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem to protect a number of Jewish visitors, the
Israeli police said.
A police spokesman told the Israeli radio a police unit rushed this evening
to help a group of Jewish visitors who entered the courtyards of Al-Aqsa
Mosque in occupied Jerusalem.
The spokesman justified the storming as "it came to protect the Jewish
visitors who visited the site".
"No one was hurt during the operation", the police said.
Meanwhile, during the past few days, hundreds of Jewish extremists and
members of extremist Zionist movements stormed into courtyards of Al-Aqsa
mosque and toured the area under extensive protection of Israeli police forces.
Earlier in the day, head of the Supreme Islamic Authority in Palestine
Sheikh Ekrema Sabri warned against actions taken by the Israeli police in
allowing several times to Jewish extremist groups to desecrate the Al-Aqsa
Mosque. (end)
