TEHRAN, Oct 20 (KUNA) -- The Iranian Army ended its last phase of air maneuvers in the northwestern region of the country which lasted for several days.
An Army statement Monday quoted spokesman for the maneuver air force pilot Brigadier Hossein Chitforoush saying "the last phase of the maneuvers was completed with success and the participating aircraft hit their targets with accuracy." He added all targets were hit with the local-made smart-missiles and the fighter aircraft went on flights likely to be needed in a war between unequal sides.
The air force started the drills Thursday near the Turkish borders to boost its combat ability and test its latest gear.(end) mw.wsa KUNA 200954 Oct 08NNNN
