KABUL, Sept 25 (KUNA) -- Eleven security guards of a dam construction
company and two militants were killed in a clash in western Afghanistan,
officials said on Thursday.
Officials said militants attacked workers of an Indian company busy
constructing a dam in the western Herat province of Afghanistan Wednesday
night.
In the exchange of fire, 11 security guards and two militants were killed,
said a district official.
Separately, bomb blasts killed two police personnel and a civilian in
Kandahar province in the southern zone of Afghanistan.
Police chief of Kandahar province Matiullah Khan said two policemen were
killed when their vehicle hit a roadside bomb in Spin Boldak district last
night.
Another bomb, planted to target a bus of police recruits in the same
province, hit a civilian, who died on the spot.
Two days back, a district governor and his police chief were killed in a
landmine blast in the same province. (end)
