ASILAH, Northern Morocco, Aug 3 (KUNA) -- Moroccan Monarch King Mohammed VI on Sunday said that selection of the logo "Alliance of Civilizations" for the first seminar of the 30th Asilah Cultural Festival reflected keenness of high-ranking intellectuals and politicians in ways of countering the danger of terrorism and faked hypothesis of cash of civilizations.
This came in the King's speech before the the opening of the 30th Asilah Cultural Festival with the participation of Kuwaiti figures including Ambassador Salah AL-Buaijan.
King Mohammed said that his country continues to be a bridge between different cultures and a model for the interaction of successive civilizations.
He stressed in his message, read by his advisor Muhammad Mutasim, that history has proven that open-handed Morocco has contributed to enabling this fabric of civilization, which he described as "fruitful and creative" to move through various channels to Europe, Africa and Latin America.
He explained in his letter that his country was at the forefront of contributors to the United Nations Special Summit of the Alliance of Civilizations which it has strongly supported. (end) sf.tg KUNA 040005 Aug 08NNNN
