TUNIS, Aug 2 (KUNA) -- At the invitation of Tunisian President Zine el
Abidine Ben Ali, the Libyan Leader Mouammar Kadhafi is paying a visit to
Tunisia tomorrow, Tunis Afrique Press (TAP) quoting an official spokesman for
the Tunisian presidency said on Saturday.
The visit comes in part to boost bilateral relations and enhance bilateral
cooperation in various fields.
A number of agreements were signed between the two countries, including
joint works on oil exploration which were signed by the Libyan-Tunisian joint
committee that held their 21st meeting last May.
Libya is considered the number one trading partner for Tunisia and ranks
fifth globally after France, Italy, Germany, and Spain.
The amount of joint investment projects between the two countries, totaling
28 projects so far, has been estimated at USD 176 million covering various
fields including services and industrial sectors.
Bilateral relations are expected to have a quantity leap and joint ventures
are expected in the electric power and natural gas sectors.(end)
