NEW DELHI, July 14 (KUNA) -- At least 26 LTTE militants have been killed in continuing clashes in battle fatigued Northern Sri Lanka.
While one LTTE cadre was killed in Ponnar in Jaffna yesterday another rebel was gunned down in Navathkulam in Vavuniya, Sri Lankan Defence Ministry said in a statement at Colombo Monday.
Two more rebels were gunned down in Vavuniya yesterday, the Ministry added.
At least seven LTTE rebels were killed in Navvi area in Vavuniya. Three LTTE cadres were killed in Palamoddai in Vavuniya yesterday.
As many as seven LTTE cadres were killed in Pulathinakulam area in Mannar yesterday, Sri Lanka's Media Centre for National Security said today.
At least five LTTE cadres were killed at Periyavallankalli and Puthukamam areas in Mannar yesterday, the Defence Ministry said. (end) KUNA 142311 Jul 08NNNN
