NEW DELHI, June 3 (KUNA) -- At least 14 rebels of the Liberation Tigers of
Tamil Eelam (LTTE) and two soldiers have been killed in fresh clashes in
Northern Sri Lanka.
One LTTE rebel was killed in Muhamalai area in Jaffna peninsula yesterday,
Sri Lankan Defence Ministry said Tuesday in a statement in Colombo.
Four LTTE cadres were gunned down in Koddikulam in Mannar yesterday, Sri
Lanka's Media Centre for National Security (MCNS) said today.
Two rebels were killed in Mullikandi area yesterday, MCNS said adding three
more LTTE cadres and two soldiers were killed at Janakapura in North-east
Welioya yesterday.
Four rebels were killed in separate incidents at Kiribbanwewa North in
Welioya yesterday, MCNS. (end)
