BAGHDAD, April 8 (KUNA) -- Seven Iraqis were killed including five children, and 11 others were injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated in Diyala province on Tuesday targeting a passenger bus at Balad ruz, 60 kilometers north of Baquba, a security source said.
"An improvised explosive device exploded as the bus was passing in Al-Dahlakiyah district off Balad ruz town," Major General Abul-Kareem Al-Rubaie said in remarks to KUNA.
The explosion killed seven passengers including two women and five children and 11 others were injured, the source added.
Meanwhile, 18 people at least were injured as a couple explosive devices went off in Tuz Khurmatu public market, southern Kirkuk, north of Iraq.
Police sources told KUNA the explosion wounded 18 Iraqis and damaged nearby stores.
In a related development, three Iraqis were wounded in a similar attack in the industrial area, located in western Mosul.(end) sbr.sab KUNA 081405 Apr 08NNNN
