IRBIL, March 23 (KUNA) -- Five Iraqi soldiers were killed, among them an Iraqi officer, and at least 18 injured in separate incidents in the northern Iraqi cities of Mosul and Kirkuk.
An Iraqi police source from Kirkuk said an improvised bomb targeting a military patrol unit in Maftol village south of Kirkuk, resulting in killing of four soldiers and causing damage to a military vehicle.
Meanwhile, an Iraqi police source in Mosul said a suicide bomber driving a vehicle loaded with explosives targeted a military checkpoint in Al-Nour area killing a military officer and injuring 10 others.
Earlier, an improvised bomb targeting an Iraqi military patrol exploded in Al-Hadba'a area in Mosul injuring seven civilians. (end) sbr.mb KUNA 232309 Mar 08NNNN
