ISLAMABAD, March 7 (KUNA) -- The traders community in Pakistan Friday decided to boycott import and selling of Danish products in protest to republication of blasphemous caricatures.
The blasphemy of Holy Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) can never be tolerated by the Muslims, said the President of National Traders Union (NTU), Irfan Iqbal Qureshi, in a joint press conference with General Secretary Nazir Ahmed Chohan and other office bearers in eastern Lahore city.
They demanded the government of Pakistan and other Muslims states to cancel trade agreements and snap diplomatic ties with Denmark and other such countries.
Irfan Iqbal said that European countries can not be given license to hurt the sentiments of other nations in the name of freedom of expression. "Such an action is clear violation of human rights, and could cause clash of civilizations and harm efforts for inter religion harmony," he observed.
He said international community specially the European Union must take notice of it. (end) amn.bs KUNA 071918 Mar 08NNNN
