NEW DELHI, Feb 20 (KUNA) -- At least 25 rebels of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) and three government soldiers were killed in separate clashes in northern Sri Lanka.
"At least 23 LTTE cadres were reported killed and 10 injured in clashes between troops and the Tiger rebels at the Wanni and Northern fronts yesterday, " Sri Lankan Defense Ministry said in a statement at Colombo Wednesday.
Two LTTE rebels were also killed yesterday near Northern Vavuniya, Sri Lankas Media Centre for National Security (MCNS) said today.
At least three government soldiers were killed today in Dambakote in southern Sri Lanka, in a LTTE attack, the MCNS added. (end) dr.hb KUNA 202159 Feb 08NNNN
