BAGHDAD, Jan 19 (KUNA) -- Eight Iraqi and American servicemn were killed and 17 others injured in a twin suicide bombings in the city of Ramadi on Saturday, a security source said.
The source told KUNA two suicide bombers wearing belts packed with explosives blew themselves up against Iraqi police stations in Ubaidi neighborhood in northern Ramadi. A third suicide bomber was arrested before detonating the explosives, added the source.
Two Iraqi police officers, three of their bodyguards and two guards were killed in one of the blasts which also injured 14 others, said the source.
Sheikh Abduljabbar Al-Fahdawi, one of the tribal elders fighting Al-Qaeda, said one the blast killed an American soldier and injured three others.
