CAIRO, Dec 25 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul-Gheit mulled
with his French counterpart Bernard Kouchner here Tuesday the situations in
the Palestinian territories and in Lebanon as well as bilateral issues.
Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa joined the meeting, Egyptian
Foreign Ministry spokesman told reporters.
The talks of the two sides focused on Israel's persistence in settlement
expansion and its impact on the Palestinian-Israeli peace process, the
spokesman pointed out.
They also dealt with the latest developments of the situation in Lebanon
and the efforts of the international community to prevent the Arab country
from plunging into chaos, he added.
Earlier Tuesday French President Nicolas Sarkozy arrived at Luxor
International Airport for a private visit to Egypt's southern city where he
will spend the Christmas holidays.
On December 30 Sarkozy will start a state visit to Egypt and meet President
Hosni Mubarak to probe the Middle East peace process following the Annapolis
and Paris conferences. (end)
