GENEVA, Dec 11 (KUNA) -- The International Organization for Migration
(IOM) said Tuesday that Saudi Arabia will fund transitional housing for
earthquake families.
IOM spokesperson Jean-Philippe Chauzy told reporters that this will be
made possible by a Saudi donation of USD 5.1 million from the Saudi Public
Assistance for Pakistan Earthquake Victims (SPAPEV) to provide transitional
shelters for 1,000 earthquake-displaced families in Pakistan-administered
Kashmir (PAK)
IOM Regional Representative for West Central Asia, Hassan Abdel Moneim
Mostafa said that this Saudi funded agreement will import pre-fabricated
houses from China to house 1,000 families in Muzaffarabad and Bagh - the two
districts of Pakistan-administered Kashmir (PAK) worst affected by the 2005
earthquake. (end)
