MUSCAT, Sept 11 (KUNA) -- Oman Air will launch daily flights to London from November, an event in the company's long-range flights' services, Ziad bin Karim Al- Haremi, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the airlines, said on Tuesday.
Seven flights a week, scheduled between Muscat and London, will be through Gatwick, the second largest British airport after Heathrow, Al Haremi said in a press release.
The Omani airlines company is planning to expand scope of its flights' destinations to meet growing demand, he said, pointing out that the services to Gatwick will contribute in the national carrier's expansion program, he added.
Oman Air is also exerting efforts to provide travelers, particularly from the Middle East, with convenient access to London, with employment of aircraft of long-range capacities, Airbus A330-300 and A310-300, featuring latest technology systems.
Al-Haremi said the Omani carrier managed to transport 1.22 million passengers in 2006, and would surpass the figure by the year 2007.
Oman Air now has 21 regular routes and plans to operate 28 destinations as part of a growth strategy that will allow the airline to offer its customers a greater choice of destination.(end) ahr.sab KUNA 111035 Sep 07NNNN
