GAZA, July 15 (KUNA) -- The Palestinian Authority (PA) denied Arab news
reports suggesting that PA leader Mahmoud Abbas accused Qatar, Syria and Iran
for knowing in advance about "Hamas coup" in Gaza Strip.
"President Abbas did not accuse these countries for knowing about the
planting of explosives in Salahuddin road and beneath his house in Gaza Strip
to assassinate him by Hamas elements," PA spokesman Nabil Abu Rudaina said in
a statement.
He said that Qatar, Syria and Iran have also denied knowing anything about
the "conspiracy which Hamas planned to execute."
Abbas informed the members of the Palestinian National Council in Amman,
Jordan, yesterday about the details of the failed assassination attempt. (end)
