IRBIL, June 29 (KUNA) -- Unknown gunmen kidnapped four Iraqi civilians
southern Kirkuk on Friday while the Iraqi army captured a top outlawed
militant in northern Iraq, according to police.
A source at the police in Kirkuk told KUNA gunmen stopped a convoy of
trucks of a construction company and abducted four drivers and took them to an
unknown place.
No group claimed responsibility for the abduction so far.
Meanwhile, a police source in Mosul, northern Iraq, said the Iraqi army
arrested a leader of outlawed group calling itself the Islamic State of Iraq.
The source identified the arrestee as Waleed Houshi, captured in Tel Afar
town in western Mosul. (end)
