KUWAIT, May 27 (KUNA) -- Kuwait on Sunday banned sales of all types of
white weapons in a decision seen as a means to curb serious human injuries
resulting from steet fights and scuffles.
Officials at the ministry of commerce and industry said measures have been
adopted to carry out the banning decision.
Ali Baghli, ministry assistant undersecretary for commercial supervision
affairs, said in statements to KUNA here today that shops and stores around
the nation would be inspected to ensure implementation of the decision.
He warned shopowners that they would be legally liable if they dealt in the
selling of white weapons, including daggers, sowrds, fatal sharp metals.
Meanwhile, the official brushed aside rumors that cat meat was being sold
at a fast food restaurant in al-Jahra governorate. Baghli said no violation
has been registered against the restaurant as of yet. (end)
