Gunmen kill nine Algerian soldiers ALGIERS, April 8 (KUNA) -- Nine Algerian soldiers were killed on Sunday in Ain Defla region, 130 km east of Algiers, after their convoy was attacked by unknown gunmen.
Algerian security sources said the convoy was attacked as it was heading to one of the area's military stations.
They added that the attack was part of attempts to break the siege against the "terrorist" Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat (GSPC), which now calls itself the Armed Branch of Al-Qaeda in Islamic Maghreb.
