Kuwait Foundation for the Advancment of Science hosts a delegation from MIT
KUWAIT, March 13 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancment of
Science (KFAS) is currently hosting a delegation from the Massachusstes
Institute of Technology (MIT) for talks on joint scientific cooperation, a
KFAS statement said on Sunday.
KFAS has arranged several meetings with the MIT delegation, which groups
professors of four different MIT departments, including Dr. Alfatih Altaher,
Dr. Nafi Tokzous, Dr. Kenneth Awie and Dr. Jack Oldam, the statement noted.
The meetings is expected to cover scientific research of benefit to
Kuwait's academic domains.
The MIT delegation is expected to meet officials from the Kuwait
University, Kuwait Oil Company, Enviroment Public Authority, and Kuwait
Institute for Scientific Research, in addition to a group of KFAS officials.
KFAS abd MIT are expected to conclude a joint agreement aimed at the
improvment of Kuwaiti scientfic researching and training of Kuwaiti
researchers, the statement added.
The statement indicated that the agreement was the wish of His Highness the
Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Jaber al Ahmed al Jaber al Sabah, chairman of KFAS, to
create scientific research training channels for Kuwaitis.
KFAS has lately ratified several agreements with research centers and
universities such as the American Harvard and Rice universities and the
British Cambridge and Oxford universities. (end)
