Al-Omair's group becomes owner of Morocco's largest press establishment
RABAT, March 27 (KUNA) -- World Media Group of the prominent Saudi
journalist Othman Al-Omair, that broadcast the electronic Elaf newspaper, has
become owner of Maroc Soir, the largest press establishment in Morocco.
Maroc Soir said in a statement, released on Saturday, that a deal in this
regard was struck last Wednesday by Al-Omair and Othman Benjaloun, the manager
of Maroc Soir.
Maroc Soir publishes several newspapers, namely Al-Sahraa, Sabah Al-Sahraa,
the French language Al-Maghreb Al-Arabi and the Spanish-language newspaper
Al-Sabah, in addition to several monthly magazines.
Al-Omair, whose investments in the country has centered on the hotels'
sector, is apparently seeking to diversify his businesses here. (end)
