Musharraf to leave for China, South Korea on Friday

ISLAMABAD, Oct 30 (KUNA) -- Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf
will leave for China and South Korea on Friday on a seven-day official visit
to hold talks with leadership of these countries on bilateral and global
issues, an official at the foreign office said Thursday.
The official told KUNA that Musharraf will be accompanied by a 22-member
delegation mostly comprising of his personal security guards and staff,
Federal Ministers, Secretary Information, Secretary Foreign Affairs and his
Military secretary Major General Nadeem Taj.
President Musharraf will hold talks with leaders of the two countries
keeping special emphasis on bilateral and global issues, the official said
adding that he would also deliver a keynote address at the Baoa forum for Asia
in China on November 2.
He said, in Beijing the President will meet and hold talks with President
Hu Jintao and other Chinese leaders on bilateral, regional and international
issues of common interest.
The President would start his visit to Republic of Korea from November 5-7.
The President's engagement in Seoul would include talks with the Korean
President Roh Moo-hyun and other dignitaries, the official added.
The visits of the President would contribute to the further strengthening
of Pakistan's close relations with the People's Republic of China and the
Republic of Korea, the official said. (end)
