Saudi Arabia affirms commitment to peace, Palestine cause and peaceful solution to Iraqi crisis MENA, Feb 12 (KUNA) -- Saudi Arabia affirmed on Wednesday its commitment to peace, the Palestinian cause and a peaceful solution to the Iraqi crisis to spare peoples of Iraq and other regional states perils of war.
This came in a joint statement, addressed to the pilgrims by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Bin Abdel Aziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of the National Guard Prince Abdullah Bin Abdel Aziz.
The two top leaders affirmed that the kingdom would not abandon its Islamic principles, or back down from supporting Moslems in the world, the Palestinian cause and its commitment to demolishing weapons of mass destruction.
Saudi Arabia considers terrorism as a source for the spread of corruption and sabotage on earth, King Fahd and the Crown Prince said. They called on the international community to differentiate between peoples' right to freedom and terrorism.
"The Saudi government has condemned all forms of terrorism .. and combating this phenomenon requires international action in line with resolutions of the international legitimacy," they said.
They stressed that Moslems must abide by the genuine spirit of Islam, which is based on peaceful co-existence with other nations. (end) ad.rk KUNA 122057 Feb 03NNNN
